FIELD REPORT

Akos Kiss-Dozsai

Budapest Office

I studied investment analysis and corporate finance in Budapest and in the UK. This major provided me with a close look into the financial mechanisms of corporations as well as the valuation of securities traded on stock exchanges. Roland Berger was suggested to me by a classmate and I decided to apply. The case studies I had to solve as part of the hiring process were fascinating. I was especially impressed that they left ample space for creative and innovative thinking, and that it was appreciated and even expected by the interviewers.

After I was accepted, I started working on a resource optimization project. Due to my financial skills, I was assigned the task of evaluating the possible leasing of the entire company fleet instead of purchasing and selling vehicles. The mindset of the team substantially supported my motivation and the quality of my work. The atmosphere was one where every question I had was listened to and answered by the more senior colleagues, thus giving me guidance in crucial moments. Besides the professional aspects, the consultants in the office were easygoing, friendly and had a spectacular sense of humor. In a nutshell, the six months I spent at Roland Berger as an intern proved to be an invaluable experience for me.
